Exam Pattern
EIL does not conduct its own separate written examination. Instead, the selection is entirely based on the GATE 2026 score in the relevant engineering discipline.
GATE 2026, which stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is a national-level examination conducted by the IITs and IISc on behalf of the Ministry of Education.
The GATE paper for each discipline consists of 65 questions carrying a total of 100 marks, covering core engineering subjects and general aptitude. Candidates are given 3 hours to complete the exam.
