Both are written theory-based tests that RBSE conducts as annual board examinations across all RBSE-affiliated schools in Rajasthan. Board-appointed examiners centrally evaluate each subject paper. Students must score at least 33 percent in every subject for RBSE to declare them as passed.
Those who fail in one or more subjects may get a chance to appear in a supplementary examination as decided by RBSE. The exam pattern is based on the NCERT syllabus as prescribed by the Rajasthan Board for Classes 5 and 8 respectively.
No practical examination is held for Class 5 or Class 8 board exams under RBSE.
